How To Stay Creative

Maintaining Your Creative Fire…

Hey friends,

Are you feeling aligned? Are you feeling creative? Are you feeling empowered? Maybe one of these, or maybe all three? Let’s delve a little deeper into how these terms are connected to our personal and professional growth!

These two words, “Alignment” and “Creativity” by definition, may seem like there is no connection. Creativity at its best is all about change and evolution, while alignment is about ensuring that everything is in a proper position. They almost seem to contradict one another. However, I am here to assure you that this is not the case.

When you are creating, you are in alignment with your unique strengths.

Yes, your creativity is an evolving piece of you but, without it, you cannot live to your full potential. You cannot properly execute your plans, your dreams, or your goals, without using your creative strengths to determine the best route in the most effective manner.

Sometimes the ultimate enemy to fulfillment is routine. When we go through the motions, we may feel as if we are progressing, but without creative interference and inspiration, the movements don’t have much value. By incorporating our intentions with our creative abilities, we can make better use of our routines, and continue to improve upon them. As we continue to grow, our routines continue to evolve. This parallel growth is incredibly challenging, if not impossible, without incorporating our creative strengths.

Creativity is such a powerful tool that we all have at our constant disposal, and it is one of the last tools we rely upon to bring us into complete alignment with our minds, bodies, and goals. However, this can be easily changed.

By taking time to become mindfully aware of how we are spending our time, days, weeks, months, and years, we can begin to notice where we are lacking creative connection.

Have you been wanting to reach a goal, and it seems as if you continue to lose track of how important it is to you?

That maybe you can achieve it later in life when the timing is “right?”

Are you finding excuses to not go for your dreams? Are you letting other people control your path?

I can speak about this from a personal experience.

I had a goal. I wanted to build a creative community. A safe space where creating was empowered, and supported, rather than questioned or dismissed. A community where discussions about what COULD BE rather than what couldn’t be. Where our dreams could soar, and our actions could align with them.

I was missing my creative connection.

I was letting unseen bosses dictate how and where I could make that happen. And in the end, it never came to fruition. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t know how to make that shift. After a year of depression, therapy, tears, and loss, I decided to return to my creativity.

That day, I bought a journal. A plain little notebook, with no specific intention. I simply began to free write. And slowly, but surely, my free thoughts seemed to have a direction that I was unaware of. They were headed back to building this creative community.

I began to seek out resources that would support this endeavor, and those resources required me to think differently, ask more questions, discover new processes, and empower my creativity once again.

I began to feel a shift in my mind, in my body, and in my soul. I was flowing every day of my life. I was finding creative connections with people I had never met, and I was thriving on those interactions. I was developing a community of people who believed in the power of creativity, without even realizing it.

My creativity helped me find alignment with my life again.

My questions, my thoughts, my experiments, and my trials have given me the greatest gift. The gift of happiness.

Creativity is a journey, and without this piece of the adventure, you cannot find true alignment.

What are you waiting for?
It’s time to create!
