Creativity and Your Flexibility

How does being flexible empower your creativity?
Try this out!

Let me be clear, this is not physical flexibility. This is mental agility! This flexibility focuses on your ability to adapt and adjust your creativity to allow it to flourish and grow depending on the circumstances you are provided with.

Flexibility will help you:

  • Transform your problems into solutions

  • Accommodate unexpected elements

  • Familiarize yourself with your unique creative abilities

Flexibility is a HUGE aspect of creative development because your creativity is constantly being influenced by internal and external elements. It is one of the main aspects of your being that allows you to continue to develop mentally, physically, and emotionally.

How Flexibility Empowers your Creativity

If your thoughts, your creative sparks, or your knowledge stayed stagnant in an ever-changing world you would eventually face a variety of challenges. Perhaps you would encounter a new, more efficient process, a new product, or a new mindset that would allow you to grow and your creativity to blossom in a new way. However, if you aren’t willing to budge, adjust, or learn something new, your creativity will be hindered.

By accepting flexibility as a built-in aspect of creative expression, development, and growth you are already ahead of the game. By welcoming change into your creativity you will be able to find deeper connections while reaching for unbelievable results.

Flexibility is key to allowing your creativity to become the most it can be, the most you can be, and to do the best you can do. It is a true superpower! Not only for your creativity but also for your personal and professional development.

How to experiment

When you accept that being flexible is a crucial part of your creative journey, you can challenge your strengths and make them stronger! You can ask yourself questions such as

  • How can I do this differently? More efficiently?
How can I have more fun doing this?
Am I missing something from this process that might make it more meaningful?
Am I connecting with the best audience to receive my authentic creative expression?

And you can ask yourself these questions without judgment or criticism. You can find new methods to create, you can find new avenues of inspiration, and you can continue to grow and prosper creatively the more you ask yourself questions and check in with yourself.

Appreciate adaptability

When you are creating, and you accept flexibility, you are also accepting adaptability into your life. Sometimes flexibility doens’t stem from our own curiosities, but rather they are forced upon us, unexpectedly. When that happens, your creative strengths will help you to be flexible and adapt. Don’t forget, creativity is a means of human survival. It is a way in which our mind becomes innovative to overcome life-threatening obstacles. Or even small challenges. By honing your creativity and accepting that change is necessary, you will never feel stuck in a corner or backed up against a wall. You will be empowered to experiment, be flexible, and adapt to grow, to thrive, and to survive.

Become more solutions-oriented

As you can probably guess, by focusing on this aspect of your creative growth you will naturally become more solutions-oriented. Instead of seeing the dead ends of questions, challenges, and obstacles in front of you, you will begin to focus on possibilities, opportunities, and solutions. This alone is one of the biggest benefits of empowering your creative strengths and will continue to help you grow and develop creatively, personally, emotionally, and physically throughout your life. Your relationships can improve, your self-love can grow, and your success will follow suit.

All of these elements together have shown me the power of creativity. Not only for my personal and professional goals but for life in general. By accepting the flexibility of your creative strengths you can only continue to grow. You can only continue to succeed. And you can only continue to thrive because you are not accepting the fact that your creativity stops. You are not accepting defeat. You are not accepting no. You are taking control of your life by allowing it to change and adapt over time in order to survive and thrive. And It is a beautiful thing!
